TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Jennifer Palmer

For Jennifer Luckraft Palmer, selling real estate in her hometown is much more than a job, it’s a passion. Jen spent her childhood summers learning to swim and chasing waves at Menauhant Beach. She and her husband, Chris were married at Bristol Beach, and they feel grateful for the opportunity to raise their family in Falmouth, where their children also attend school.
Having worked for several years in the restaurant industry, such as the British Beer Company in Falmouth Heights, Jen knows firsthand what it’s like to make a living during the seasonal hustle of a Cape Cod summer. She also knows what it’s like to run a business in one. She and Chris were the brains and heart behind J.R. Brody’s Roadside Tavern on Teaticket Highway in East Falmouth, which they owned and operated for several years. Now home to East End Tap, the property boasts a storied and beloved history.

Prior to the Palmers’ taking over, Brody’s was the longtime home of the Irish Embassy and McGann’s Pub. The couple put their own stamp on it, making it a village-centric watering hole and family restaurant celebrating the local 02536 zip code, while keeping the welcoming ambiance and regular customers, for which it has always been known and loved. During their tenure as Falmouth business owners, Jen and Chris were always active in the local community, eager to do their their part by donating to the many nonprofit organizations and fundraisers that make the town so special. After an extremely rewarding stint running Brody’s, Jen and Chris made the bittersweet decision to sell the business in order to focus on family and pursue another passion – flipping houses – and when it came time to sell one of their properties, they decided to work with Christine O’Leary of Salt Pond Realty LLP.

“We already knew Christine and her family because they used to come in to Brody’s, and she was fantastic to work with,” Jen said. “Christine was actually the person who later encouraged me to get my real estate license. She gave me the gentle nudge that I needed.”

Establishing a personal connection and fostering a lasting relationship with her Salt Pond clients has been equally rewarding for Jen, in addition to the support she receives from her colleagues, and the mentorship of Christine and Salt Pond co-founder, Cynthia Furtado.

“Christine and Cynthia each have their own styles, and they complement one another really well. I learn so much from them, and I always know I can turn to them if I have a question. There’s a very strong team spirit at Salt Pond, which I love,” she said.

Jen brings a unique and well-informed perspective to the Salt Pond Realty team. Her business acumen, coupled with her love of Falmouth, enable her to make wishes come true for all of our clients, whether they’re looking to buy their first dream house so they can start their family, or the luxury oceanfront retirement home signifying the fruition of a lifelong dream.

“Falmouth truly has it all – an excellent public school system, wonderful local businesses, a caring community, and year-round natural beauty. It makes my job seem easy,” she said.
